THE ROCK JUMP

Creative short film for the Escapes online video series: “Manly Jump Rock is a local rite of passage. A number of high ledges of dusty sandstone jut out, meters above the deep waters of Manly Harbour. From local Collins Beach, the cliff looks high, but once your feet are at the edge of the rock looking down it suddenly seems much higher. In recent years the rock was fenced off to stop people from jumping, but this didn't deter them, and the fence is now used by children and adults as a fourth platform from which to launch into the abyss.”
